Re: Need a new carb for your KX500?

Have you tried test fitting this carb? If you have not, you'll eventually find an interference issue with the tank and the carb cap.

Shouldn't be a huge deal to modify the cap since the tps is removed from the carb. I'm hoping that's all that's needed.

Re: Need a new carb for your KX500?

Good info....I have to remind myself, what works in a 250/300 doesn't necessarily work in a 500. I've got a #6 slide kicking around somewhere.

Too many variables, not enough time! :D

Re: Need a new carb for your KX500?

Thanks for the info. Do you know the difference between the N89D needle you used and the stock N82M needle? Once it stops raining and snowing around here, I plan to get some actual time on the bike and figure out the jetting with the stock carb. Once I get a baseline and a good feel for it, I try a ...

Re: UPDATING KX500 SUSPENSION.

5.5 is as heavy as you'll find in a Yamaha Ti spring.....you may have to search for a RCS spring.

Re: UPDATING KX500 SUSPENSION.

Two things to keep in mind.... First, the easiest way to verify the spring rate is by the color code on the bottom of the spring. 5.5 is pink 5.3 is yellow Don't know the rest, but it's a KYB thing whether steel or ti and you'll want to verify it before laying out the cash. Second, you'll notice a c...
