Hmmm... I believe that is a Resistor plug.
I'm pretty sure the stock KX500 cap is a resistor cap.
If so, you don't want to use a resistor plug..
Kind of winging it here...

What does the area on the crank look like where the seals ride? Also, measure the diameter right there and let me know what it is. What brand of seals did you use? You have them in correctly.
