What I really wanted to do was test my suspension.
Some of you may remember that I am running 97-04 KX500 suspension with Racetech gold valves and recommended shim stacks.
I've been all over and tested the suspension at different spots, mainly in the sand.
Every set of whoops is a bit different and the whoops I wanted to hit were hard packed dirt with steep approaches and departures exactly like the ones at a certain spot at Christmas valley.
I have hit them many times and they change very little over the years.
I've been real happy with the suspension at all other area's but this is a itch I had to scratch.
Unfortunately I don't have any pics or video
So I hit this whoop section in 3rd gear pinned...
No bucking, or back kicking, just straight line tapping.
Going back the other way I started in 3rd and shifted hard into 4th and kept it pinned but never topped out because I whimped out and shut it down.
Again no surprises... just straight controlled riding.
If I was a better rider I might be able to push it beyond it's capabilities but I wasn't able to.
Which is good, the suspension performed exactly the way it is suppose to for my age, weight, and riding ability.
How hard did my suspension compress?
Hard enough to tear off my plate and tail light holder..
