Sean Collier taming The Beast
With the success of Sean's new bike build (Groot) it quickly became apparent that The Beast needed some love as well.
Sure, we freshened up the engine a bit, and replaced the main frame as well as the chassis bearings, but it is essentially the same bike that he won last year's National Two Stroke Championship on.
That sounds like a great start but The Beast has many short comings.
Only Sean's over the top riding skills made that bike work.
First on the agenda is the rear brakes.
Stock KX500 rear brakes stink... Sure, for the average rider like myself they work fine.
But I don't ride like Sean does so something a bit more updated and powerful is in order.
Here is what we are starting with a slightly used 06-12 KX250F, KX450F 08-12 rear brake caliper and mount

Ok... After a bit of clean up I can now tell what I have to work with and I think it will work just fine...

Re: Sean Collier taming The Beast
One of the other things we are going to do is to tame down the Beast engine by changing the porting as well as the timing.
Then along the way there are other things... (Secret things) we will do to put a smile on Sean's face..
Unless you are real familiar with a Wossner piston you won't know anything is different...

Re: Sean Collier taming The Beast
I started the rough porting for the cylinder going into "The Beast"
I have a few hours to go, then I will do the fine clean up work.
After that, Jason will get his hooks into to give it that high luster

Another Great work in progress!
I saw this interview with S.C. and Mike Healey From Fasthouse, I can see how you guys can get behind a project for S.C. Pretty cool.
