New Compressor shed
After working with my compressor in the same shop that we work in for the last 7 months.... I can honestly say that I am SICK OF IT!!!!!
It's not really that loud but it just drones away and drives me nuts.
So, Jason and I talked about building a shed to house it.
Cool... We have a stairwell right next to the shop that would be a perfect location...
So I figured that I would build a nice little wood structure, hook up the compressor and be done with it...
The next day I was out of town all morning.
When I got back Jason had been hard at work..
Clearly, Jason and I had a different idea of what we should do...
Be that as it may, I liked the idea of a concrete pad for the compressor to sit on..
It would also give us a chance to fix the missing block from the corner of the building.
Why it was done that way I don't know but every time we got a decent rain the shop got water in it...
So, I rented one of these..

Re: New Compressor shed
Started doing some of this..
Then ended up with this..
Beautiful
Then Jason says, "Hey, how much of that block do you have left over from building your other shop wall?"
I thought it would look cool to have the block at the base with wood sides..

Even Ruger liked the idea..
But once again, Jason had other ideas..
And it kept growing and growing...
That's either a gun port or a hole for the intake fan...
What other surprises await us????
I have no idea

In all fairness to Jason, I did say to do whatever you want to...

Re: New Compressor shed
I've been so busy trying to fix my old house up that I have neglected just about everything else.
It seems that every week there was some new emergency that had to be dealt with..
But finally that mess is out of my hair and I can move forward with everything else..
We finally finished the roof... Big pain in the... And Jason built the cart to dolly the compressor around on..
Got the compressor mounted on the cart.
The whole assembly is in the new room...
Jason is hooking up the compressor for a test run..

Re: New Compressor shed
I need to finish framing the window so I can hook up the intake fan and mount the louvers on the outside.
Temporarily I have a hose hooked up to my vapor blaster...
Soon we will be running hard line throughout the shop so we will have air everywhere without tripping all over the hoses
So... was it worth all the effort?
Absolutely.... It is so nice and quiet in my shop when the compressor is running it is shocking..
Yes, you can still hear it but it is very minimal...
We still have some small things to do... Door handle, some clean up, ect but you get the idea..
Special thanks goes to Jason... This would never have happened if he didn't dig up my ground one day and start pouring concrete..
What would I ever do without his help...
