I'd like to build one KX500 that did not need a new sprocket guard tower...
Cases are in sad shape,,
But no worries... After Jason and I get done with them.... You won't recognize them...

Here is what the left case looks like just before I sent it off to weld..
This is what we call our Pre-clean up..
Gotta make sure the welder has nice clean material to work with..

You are so right...
Actually it would make a great desert or dunes motor but for a dirt bike it would be a wild child.
Yet, some of the mods we are going to do to it will also give it some decent low end power.
The fact is, I should go down to the garage and do some of the cylinder mods tonight... But I'm too lazy..

I went ahead and spent some time last night porting the cylinder.
Normally the exhaust ports look like this..
But not for long... Just starting to whittle away some material..
