From Lenny himself...
I am finally able to put a bow on this 1991 KX500 project. I wanted to make it look like a bike that would have been ridden in 91, and decided to make it something of a Jeff Ward tribute. I am super happy with the way out turned out. I’ve had a lot of help over the past year, and have many people to thank. First - thanks to my buddy Jeff Young for letting me restore this in his shop, and helping me wrench along the entire way. There were a lot of busted knuckles. Second, thanks to Jason Tanner at JT Engine Works for all the time it took in making this motor new again. It is an absolute beauty and beast! Many more folks were involved from powder and cerakoting, lacing up new wheels, and rebuilding the suspension. Lastly, I want to say thanks to the Mike Weir and the KX Guru Group for all the knowledge, tips and tricks, and especially the folks out there continuing to improve these old bikes through fabrication of parts that are no longer made by the manufacturer.
