here is a pic of the pipe it will be replacing.

Top of the line Cobra exhaust. Alum cone/discone silencer, Larger headers than stock, with more direct flow, and of course. all Jet-hot coated with sterling... (I bought this pipe brand new.. Oh.god I was in JR high... 17-18 years ago?, and at the time, I actually wanted the Bassani... but it wasnt being made anymore by that time (only made for a few years), and was about 3X the cost of the cobra, so I couldnt afford it)

it looks alot nicer in person than the pic shows......

and will be replaced with this. The HOLY GRAIL of 350x exhaust.

Just finished doing all my hammering, pre fitting, grinding of ugly weld work tonight.. will go out for Jet hot coating on monday.. (assuming I can find the money to do it somewhere) :?

Very nice.
Couple of questions for you.
What does the Jet hot coating cost to do and where do you get it done at?
Where did you find a decal for that pipe?
I have seen several 3 wheelers around the dunes by the coast but none are a sweet as yours.

Cost... Depends on what your coating. pipe like that.. about $150. (Off memory... Ill update as soon as my quote comes back monday).. thats for them, aluminum oxide blasting it, inside and out, Coating it Inside and out, and polishing it....

I get it done at JET HOT. worth the extra money. all others peal etc. ones on my off road bikes still look great after many many YEARS.

decal. ebay.

okay.

Jet hot has gotten NUTS.

their quote was $280... Plus $60 shipping...

I still have my recipt from about 5 years ago last one they did... for $125.....

I did some digging. gues Jet Hot went bank rupt. and is now owned by a holding company, that raised the prices to the moon...

Im now going to try one of my local shops... that the Race desert guys swear by. we shall see.

their quote, for same work....... $90

all mounted up... looks good. and sounds good.. doesnt have the annoying BUZZ that my cobra did (at a certain RPM the pipe would rezonate..). and its a touch quieter than the cobra. (thank god)..

guess this changed from a "wanted" thread to a "restoration" thread didnt it?

Pardon the bike.. its DIRTY AS HELL. as I just got back from the dez with her. (put about 100 miles on her) (when clean it looks like the above pictures...) infact that pic was taken last year...

I also put on a OEM grab bar. (have had it for years).. but ran the cooler rack, as I had a 2.5gal gas can that would fit there for LONG rides. but it was all cracked up.. so I put on my stocker...

(note. the baffle will sit flush when mounted 100%. I need to go chase some larger rivets)

I also measured it all up..

cobra vs bassani.

bassani headpipes are 2" longer
collector is 1.75" longer
primary cone in pipe is 4.5" longer.
Dis-cone (inside pipe, you cant see it) is 2" longer

yea... no wonder they made more power.
