Of course, I have found this on KXRiders & checked it out about a year ago. Sandblasters write up on Seans build had us all raging ...

I relocated to Page, AZ (Utah boarder) about 10 years ago from Dist 37. Sofft sand up here @4000 ft, with 1 race a season. I'm 65 & ride with a 72 yo guy that kicks my butt. He use to ride with trails with The OLD So Cal guys. I rode along in 60s & 70s with the Checkers as I never raced, after that I followed them into class 7 off road trucks.

Got my orig. '89 KX 500 that I had the top end coated & piston from Years at Glamis & Dumont in Death Valley.

Welcome to the site Ninja..
I don't have much in the way of jetting specs for 4000 ft, if you wanna share I'd like to add it to our jetting info.
More and more people are riding snow bikes and at crazy altitudes. It would be nice to get them some starting jetting specs.

My Dad is 72 and still kickin butt... He can ride a wheelie for miles...
Unfortunately his shoulder is giving out so I don't know how many more years he has left, so I say, let's go ride and finish that shoulder off for good :lol:

I love the Eastern Oregon desert... lots of fun riding....

I like that ribbed front tire on your old stolen bike :cry:
I've been trail riding on my XR650R with a rear tire on the front - all good in technical sand - slickrock, except it is a moose to move & the K5 is a sports car (gotta get a ribbed front like you had.

District 37 is @ 4000 ft (high desert) so Abbott should be the one to hear from on jetting ... My needle is up on 2 with 55 pilot & 165 main.

Went up to Coos Bay & Lakeside this spring RVing only, the dunes are like Pismo Beach in Calif. Bend looks like a nice place ... :roll:

The ribbed tire was good and light but truthfully I like my current front tire for the sand better.
I run it almost completely flat.
It is heavier then the ribbed tire but the KX500 has such a light front end compared to your XR650R that it does not bother me at all.
If you come on over I'll let you take it for a ride.

Turn signals, nite headlight ? Seriously cool :ugeek:
I need to plate my K5 (no lights, mirror) as there is no tech inspection in Page, AZ - a mile from Utah (both my XR650Rs are plated)

Nice rubber! I could only see 4 letters then COMPETITIO on the sidewall ... Very gnarly & wide - what are the specs ?

I don't remember the tire specs but it is the same as my rear 19 x 2.15 something or other... :lol:
I've got to go feed all the animals so I'll open up the shop and take a look...

Michelin 130/70-19 I couldn't read the rest without a light...
I did have to shave the side knobs a bit to fit.
It was that or cut my fork guards...
I like the XR650R's.
I know they are heavy but they handle very nice so most of the time you don't feel the weight.
I'm parting one out that I picked up last week.

Thanks for the easy link :arrow: my search kung fu sucks

I' looking for a front hub with bearings, seals, spacers & hopefully an attached good disk. What would a complete rear wheel cost ( with bearings, seals, spacers, that steel counter was pretty worn - so the aluminum rear sprocket must have been changed?) Was the bike wrecked ? Rear rim & disk is gtg?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
My internet took a dive during our latest snow storm...
Anyway I have bare hubs, no bearings, no rotors, no sprockets.
I might have the rear steel sprocket but I would have to check.
Unless we get a real straight wheel we always cut the hubs out.
It's too easy for people to complain about a wheel being dented or slightly out of round.
The manufactures typically allow .060" side and vertical play but I have had customers complain about .030".
You will never feel .030" or even .060" on the dirt or the street as long as your wheel is balanced (Street).
But still, eBay makes it incredibly easy for a customer to make demands so we don't take the risk anymore.

I can do both hubs delivered for 275, or 100 for the front and 175 for the rear as long as it's being delivered within the States :D

The bike was not wrecked but it had a engine knock and the guy was trying to be sly about it.
He told me that it was rocker noise and they needed to be adjusted Lol.
I didn't call him on it.
I bought the bike, got it loaded then he says, hey what would you have paid for it?
I said, no more then I did.
He got a frown, and asked why?
I said because either the top end or the bottom end is done and needs to be rebuilt.
He started to argue but I held up my hand and told him that I have owned and rode 3 of these over the years, (Good bike)... And besides I own OEM-CYCLE and I have rebuilt more then a few....
He just said, oh..... And I told him to have a good one, got in my truck and left.

As it turns out the wrist pin end of the crank was worn out and needs a crank rebuild...
