XL600R HONDA Service Specifications page
STATOR
FITS 83-87 XL600R 31120-MG2-015
Please take all measurements with the stator grounded.
The easiest way is to leave it attached to the engine.
Charging coil:
Check for continuity between the Pink and yellow wires.
The Ohms should be .95-1.29
Lamp Coil
Check for continuity between the white/yellow wire and ground.
The Ohms should be .4 - .55

Voltage regulator rectifier
Please take all measurements with the regulator grounded.
The easiest way is to leave it attached to the bike.
You might also want to double check it to make sure it is properly grounding to the frame.
Regulated voltage 13.7-15.3V

Specific Voltage
83-86 13.5-14.5V at 5000 RPM
87 13.7-14.2V at 5000 RPM

Ignition Timing
Initial
83: 6 deg BTDC at 1200 RPM
84 and newer: 11 deg BTDC at 1300 RPM
Full advance 31 deg BTDC at 4000 RPM
