OK... Turbo Crank revision 2 is done...
Seriously, REV 2 is done.
We just need to put it in a bike and dyno it...

Re: KX Guru Racing JT Engine Works KX500 Turbo Crank testing
and you thought this project was dead... Nope
I have been so busy I just could not get back to it.
But since our two big events cancelled this year it's time to get this puppy rocking!
I have lowered the port timing by removing material from the bottom of the cylinder.
Because the piston now sits above the deck I had to hove the head cut.
I also had to remove material from the pads that the drum valves sit on.
I may have to elongate the holes for the head mounts...

as you can see, the cylinder has not been carved upon..
Just lowered..
In the next two weeks I hope to have it finished, broke in, then dyno'd..

Re: KX Guru Racing JT Engine Works KX500 Turbo Crank testing
I always try to get something done on my project bikes every day.
But yesterday I was feeling pretty unmotivated.
So I went out to the shop about 8pm and installed the governor cover and called it good
As you can see, this is not a polished fancy pants build.
Right now I'm in the testing and tuning stage.
Once I dial in this engine, then I will take it apart and apply all the glitter and makeup

Re: KX Guru Racing JT Engine Works KX500 Turbo Crank testing
I was getting ready to put the carb back on when it occurred to me that the jet block o=ring gasket has never been replaced
So, I can't let that stand.
It's good thing I checked it s it was beginning to fall apart.
See that little chunk missing?
It is suppose to be missing..
But, the gasket is starting to fray round it's outside edges.
The bike was still running good but it was just a matter of time...

and those that know me realize that I will never build a KX500 engine without dissembling the air box and cleaning it, then sealing it with some Ultra Black RTV silicone..

I'm so close to firing this puppy up but one of my best friends son is having a graduation party and I cant miss it.
So likely it will happen tomorrow...
What will I get for the Graduation present?
Tools.. What else?
