Re: Chinese/GPI rad install KX500
Update on the rads, I saw a little wet spot under the front end of the bike, turned out to be coolant. I'd guess the bike has about 30 hours on it. Left side radiator was leaking from underneath the mounting tab that is welded onto the bottom tank of the rad. Not sure what made it start leaking - I ...

Finally got this bike together, done about 7 heat cycles and no leaks so far.

Re: KXV500 - KX500 engine in a SXV550 chassis
Thanks SB, I'd like to make it a beautiful build but I don't have the patience for that, too many projects so if it's functional I'm happy.
I'm dumb, it is a 38mm carb, not 36. Sudco part# 016-167
I set the ignition to 0.087" BTDC
What is this power d you speak of?

Re: KX500 swap into 1985 LT250
After that trip to Idaho I added a bracket on the back for an extra 10L gas can, the thing is a thirsty pig in the sand and I couldn't go very far from camp. I haven't rode it since adding the bracket, if this Rona border closure ends before winter I really want to go back to idaho

Re: KX500 swap into 1985 LT250
Internet was giving me some grief last night so I didn't finish this. The kick lever worked perfectly just like the swingarm engine mount, rear brake lever also fit perfect, the shift lever was a bit too far back so I got one of those levers that's extended 20mm (I think). 20180528_171606.jpeg When ...

Re: KXV500 - KX500 engine in a SXV550 chassis
Rides really good, I have a CR500 supermoto and the KX engine is smoother, works much better as a street engine IMO. I'll try to get a video of it in action just have to get my buddy who has a go pro I forgot to mention it has boyesen reeds, I updated my other post Also it weighs in at 290lbs with a...

Re: KX500 swap into 1985 LT250
The pipe was a real pain, I used a stock KX500 pipe and chopped it and then rotated the pieces and welded them back together
