2019 KX450f shock on a KX500
My original idea was to put the 19 shock in completely stock except for the spring. But then I thought, this is going on The Haas bike. Why not add one more detail. So I contacted Brian Bolding from N2Dirt suspension https://www.n2dirt.com/ and he is going to take this project to the next level. Brian has software that allows him to test and record results for all sorts of fancy suspension stuff
He is mapping the shock so I will be providing measurements and doing all the wrench work here in Oregon.

For this project, one of the things that Brian Bolding at N2dirt Suspension wants is a map of how much the shock shaft travels in relation to how much the rear wheel moves. I thought it would be linear but have discovered that it moves on a curve. For those of you who know this stuff already just ignore this post and move along Hey... I'm a engine guy, not a suspension guy Tomorrow I will get some more tie downs so I can get more accurate measurements. The slightest movement of the chassis can throw off the readings quite a bit...
