Pro-Seal Air Filter Gasket Review by http://WWW.OEM-CYCLE.COM
So your air box to filter sealing area isn't perfect any more.
Over time they can warp and distort not to mention that some come from the factory not fitting all that well to begin with.
So, you get out the filter grease and go to town.
Fantastic! No dirt is gonna get inside your engine now!!!
Except... What happens the next time you go to change or clean your air filter?
That's right, you get a HUGE mess!
I finally broke down and bought a Pro-Seal Air Filter Gasket.
They are 16.95 retail.
According to Pro-Seal this eliminates the need for air filter grease.
The directions are simple and clear.
I love the fact that they give you a test piece.
I took my test piece and cut it into 3 pieces so that I could have a few tries if required.
The gasket material feels like neoprene with a rough textured finish.
Also included was a decal and some ads for other products.
Here is our subject, 01 KX500 super moto
CLEAN IT, CLEAN IT, CLEAN IT, CLEAN IT.
I used some carb cleaner.
Here is the test piece.
I got great adhesion the first time out.
I placed the gasket on the surface and lightly pushed it so that full contact was eventually made.
Next I installed a no toil filter onto my air basket.
Then I installed it into the bike.
I noted right away how well the filter fit on the new gasket.
No gaps and no bunching.
Everything fits perfectly!
I couldn't be happier with the results.
So now we'll torture test this set up and let you know the results so stay tuned...
