Re: KX Guru Racing JT Engine Works KX500 Turbo Crank testing
Disassembly went fairly smoothly... no issues.... Nothing really worn out beyond usability... Just dirty... and really not that bad.
If the testing proves out that this is a good mod then this crank will be disassembled, cleaned, polished, and sent to Steve Parris for his patented Turbo Crank modifications, then reassembly and balance. For my own bike, I will not build a crank without balancing.

And now to the heart of the matter....
Ain't she a beauty?
Masking off the bearings from the work that will be done on the cases.
We don't want to contaminate the bearings and seals any more then what would happen during a careful disassembly.

You can see the black mark at the top of the crank area.
that is to give us a guide when we round the corner.

After all modifications were made everything was thoroughly inspected by our professional in shop quality control inspector.

The clutch components looked good so they were rinsed off and put back in... even the plates...
The crank is in so now it's time to get this thing rolling again..

The piston is back in... yes, this is not what I want to do but it is necessary to get a fair comparison.
All the pieces and parts going back together...
Just in case you were wondering what assembly lube Jason used..
It's 9pm and we are ready to drop it back in... Not world record time but for what we did and how we had to do things, not bad

The engine is in and Jason is working on jetting...
After a few hours of test rides and jetting changes we are using a 152 main
I know I know... but that's what it want's with forced induction....
Ready for the Butt dyno test...

Re: KX Guru Racing JT Engine Works KX500 Turbo Crank testing
At this point the simple truth of the matter is, as much HP as we made on the KX250, we lost on the KX500... We have all sorts of theories, guesses, and fabrications... We had hoped to have a solution before this question was asked but so far we really haven't had the time to get back to it. But we have a loose plan of action to follow depending on what we find as we test. So, don't loose hope... We are working on it. And who knows, it may be something very simple or it could require a complete redesign. But whatever we find we will share...

Re: KX Guru Racing JT Engine Works KX500 Turbo Crank testing
There are so many possibilities...
We are starting with the easiest and simplest things first and working out to the difficult and absurd... Believe me... we want to figure this out.
If we can make it like it is in the 250 combined with some other Guru mods we will have something real special..

Just remember, it took Edison more than a couple tries to find the right light bulb filament!
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Re: KX Guru Racing JT Engine Works KX500 Turbo Crank testing
Lol... I used that same analogy about the crank just the other day.
It seems that there are some naysayers that don't believe it can possibly work.
Yet, we already have one working on a KX250.
I even posted the dyno results..
Disbelief and some were down right nasty about it
Why do they feel this way?
Because when something works that they can't wrap their head around or it doesn't fit their specific idea's on how something works, then it must be impossible
But no worries... We will try and try.
We have a lot of idea's on why it works on the 250 and not the 500.
We will start with the easiest to modify first and go from there.
Keep in mind, I have no financial interest in making this work, I just want to make more power for my bike
And after the initial results on the 250 were so amazing, and the ride reports have been so positive, I want that same sort of increase on the 500... Then I will add my other mods and really smile..
