KX5TM Build, continued

Hello gang
I've picked up where another left off with a steel frame build. 2012.5 Factory Edition KTM 450SXF roller mated to a 2000 KX500. So far things have gone pretty well.
I have one question for the minds of the group -

I have checked the position of the swingarm pivot, countershaft alignment, and all the other alignment and tie-in points. It is all solid and in-line. When I rotate the kickstarter through the kicking crank, the kicker gets stuck at about 90-100 degrees rotation by hitting the frame. See the pic:

I tried contouring the frame slightly but do not want to get too much into the frame. I also shaved a little off the kicker and steel mounting bracket, as you can see.

Here is what i think:
Option 1. extend the kickstarter shaft outward by about 15mm to get clearance past the frame.
Option 2. look for / fabricate a new kicker bracket (the steel piece that mounts to the splines and the kicker rotates on) to gain the offset.

Any opinions or ideas? Does anyone know of another kicker assembly that would cross over?

If bikes are for kids I'll never grow up.
